Ageing and My Badepapa

So far I only read and heard about the ageing journey of various people. But as the life had it in store for me I have now personally seen a journey of once a Healthy, strong and Jovial person to weak and completely bed ridden person.
I have also personally experienced the energy and enthusiasm in my teenage years and finding it growing stronger upto the age of 30. During these years your body responds to even very little care and gives good output/energy for longer hours. In my mid thirties I have realized the two things:-
a)       Mine  body/energy  is not the same as it was in twenties
b)      The elders around me are also losing strength slowly.

Both the realizations pointed to the same thing which we all tend to ignore i.e Ageing. Although was all are aware of the term but we tend to downplay it for as long as we can i.e until we have to face it or experience it personally. Even after witnessing ageing, human mind tend to keep the notion that the same will not be experienced by him or in his case it would be different.

There is a trend or rather people consider it fashionable/ intellectual to link ageing with mind/enthusiasm. I, being no exception to the trend started to believe that ageing/old age has more to do with your state of mind rather than physical conditions.
However, Indian Veds never linked old age to state of mind and always stressed that life of human body is time bound and its bound to decay under the influence of time. Despite all the same organs being present as at the time of birth/ youth the human body does not function/respond the same way in old age as it responded once in youth.
My grandfather who would assure his presence (despite being miles always) on my birthday year after year would hardly recognize me by face/voice in his old age days. Well I am pretty sure that his love for me would not suddenly diminish (for those who consider old age as state of mind) the fact remains that his senses are slowing depleting. I am hard convinced that human body would never remain the same as its now for you. And its better that everyone makes peace with this truth rather than being under illusion.

We spend our life time in nourishing relations and accumulating wealth (so as to create assets for future) but in the end we end up alone at Hospital Bed with some unknown faces & machines. While during our life time we are selective of what we eat, what med we take or what goes inside us but in old age we are at left with what others decides as best for our body. At old age a person realizes that to whom he gave time are in their own race to make relations and wealth.

We all know that reciting God’s name will help us /carry with us after this body too. Wisdom is implementing that knowledge early.

Dedicated to my Grandfather,

Who would stay awake whole night to fan me in days of blackout,
Who would buy every toy and sweet I lay my eyes upon,
Who would arrange rickshaw for me even if I have to walk for 500M,
Who would remain awake till 2.00 AM to receive me at station,
Who would pray only for my happiness and success

And with whom I was not present in his last moments, being in rat race.

Who is a Hindu

Who is a Hindu?
A Hindu is an individual who accepts as authoritative the religious guidance of the Vedic scriptures, and who strives to live in accordance with Dharma, God's divine laws as revealed in the Vedic scriptures. if you accept the Vedas (and by extension Bhagavad Gita, Puranas, etc.) as your scriptural authority, and lived your life in accordance with the Dharmic principles of the Vedas, you are then a Hindu. Thus, an Indian who rejects the Veda is obviously not a Hindu. While an American, Russian, Indonesian or Indian who does accept the Veda obviously is a Hindu.

You can’t claim to be Hindu by Birth or Caste
As per Shanti Parva, Maha Bharata (12.188)

janmana jayate sudrah
samskarad bhaved dvijah
veda-pathad bhaved vipro
brahma janatiti brahmanah

By birth one is a sudra (lowest caste), by the purification (Karma/ Samskar) process one becomes a dvija (second birth conferring a higher status), by study of the Vedas one becomes a vipra, and one who knows Brahman is a brahmin.
Thus all of us are born shudra, its our Karma that determines our further status.

What Veda’s really says/command?
As per Shaloka 2.33 of Gita
atha cet tvam imam dharmyam
sangramam na karisyasi
tatah sva-dharmam kirtim ca
hitva papam avapsyasi

If you will not fight this righteous war, then you will fail in your duty, lose your reputation, and incur sin.

So being Hindu to me means standing with the right and fighting against the evil in any form. Also we must seek god's guidance and courage in this fight as Arjuna was guided by Lord Sh Krishna in the battle of Kurukshetra.

Feeling Alone

You feel
Alone in your place... No furniture.. No persons... Just you till miles....

All those around you considering you to be foolish and alien.

You lounging for someone, atleast someone to be like you, to support you...

Doubting whether your notions/belief/personality are really worth anything.....

Then i feel giving up is not an option

As it is written in Bhagvad Gita Ch 2 Shlok 37

hato va prapsyasi svargam
jitva va bhoksyase mahim
tasmad uttistha yuddhaya krta-niscayah

hatah--being killed; va--either; prapsyasi--you will gain; svargam--the heavenly kingdom;
jitva--by gaining victory; va--or; bhoksyase--you enjoy; mahim--the world;
 tasmat--therefore; uttistha--get up; yuddhaya--and fight; krta--determined; niscayah—with determination.

So keep on acting on what you judge the best.

Act don't be brainwashed.

Child Outside Buffet Hut

Yesterday evening i was invited to a friend's birthday treat at Buffet Hut, Sec 8, Chandigarh. The delicious snacks kept me waiting since morning :)

For Rs 399 they serve quite well and i was satisfied and quenched to full.

After coming out i saw a child aged 10-12 years sitting on the floor with his rehri of toys.... With a hope to sell them...

"Abe yaar yeh tere khilone se khelen ki umar hai bechane ki nahin" (this is the time for you to play with toys and not sell them)

But looking at his single shirt and without sleeper feet i realized that its his need to sell them..

Even if they attract him, or even if they fascinate him.... He can not play with them... Money is harsh reality of this world.. This lesson has been understood by him in quite a early age...

Next i saw a small kid aged 4-5 years from a well to do family who probably were coming out from Buffet hut after dinner... That small kid was attracted to toys.. was sitting on the stairs and was asking her mom to buy it for him....

Her Mom inquired about the light ball and was replied by Rs 70 as a price...

But she negotiated....Wanted it for Rs 50.....

A Hard negotiation i witnessed with that selling child slowly coming down to Rs 65 than Rs 60.. But she never moved an inch from Rs 50...

Come on lady.. Whom you are negotiating with...

That kid is not even half your age.... He has got no match for your intelligence..... Jaane de na yaar 20 Rupe faltu de degi to kya jayega...

But no...

Ultimately the boy has to sell it for Rs 50....  wonder this lady would have negotiated the same way in malls too..  Dont know who overchage? or who had more margins? or who needed the money more..? the poor kid or the mall company?

Felt sorry for the kid.. But could not do anything... I dont have sufficent means to take care needs of that kid..

I too brought a ball from him before he could say a price.. Just handed him Rs 60 (Wish i had extra 10 Rs in my pocket).. before he could return the excess money.. i walked towards the car playing with the ball....

Drived my way.. thinking why i bought the ball...To help the kid... Naaaaaaaaaahhhhhh

Just to get rid of my guilt feeling... Just to think that i have helped the kid... knowing very welll that my help would hardly mean anything to him in hardships... :(

Hated my self for not being able to do more.. Threw the ball outside the car.. it was reminding me how i escaped my conscious....

Prayed to Sh Ganesh to make life easy and enjoyable for him..

CitiBank Fraud

In a recent Citibank fraud ,the bank is expected to have robust computerised information system, enterprise risk management, application of BASEL norms. The foreign-listed bank is regulated by Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002 in the US and its Indian counterpart is required to comply with the corresponding SEBI Clause 49 Listing Agreement. The bank is regulated by SEBI and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and is to be inspected and audited by senior management, internal audit and I-T audit teams, accredited information system auditors as well as external statutory auditors.

Then what went wrong that the fraud remain undetected?

I believe the spirit to hear the truth was missing. I believe that  there are CA's (auditors) in the economy that can give you your desired sweet and goody goody audit report but there are also CA's in the market that can go to depth of any matter and warn against the most disguised transactions and dealing.

And the management is very well aware of the two kind of CA's but they do not really want to hear the bitter truth, rather the want the formality to have CA certified audit report completed at the earliest.

I believe that if auditors are given powers and freedom to express in true sense than these kind of frauds cpuld be avoided from spoiling the image of Indian Accounting.

Troubling my mind

Today i feel like god should have given me supervision or something.

My eyesight is depleting. Its not that i don't know the reasons. My Total exposure to computer/TV screens during a day are as follows;-

TV - Home - 1 hours
Computer - Office - 8 Hours
TV/Computer- Home - 3 Hours

Total 12 Hours.

For half of the day everyday i am exposing my eyes to these men made bloody ***#$* screens. Can't they make anything natural or something that does not effect the eyes at all.

But all i want is that god or these inventors must do something, what i want to ignore is that everything is in my hands. I have to do something about it.

Wellllllllll from now onwards i will reduce my exposure and try some Ayurvedic tips for eyesight improvement.

I desperately need to pull back from this point as i really hate that chashmish look. It looks like a spare part or a accessory on you.

My views on recent violence

We have a state where people just believe in violence and not even fear of their life. Their expectation from people of mainland India is to support them for uncalled protests and violence. First they kill their own people (kashmirie pundits) and force them to flee and become refugee in their own country, then demand for army withdrawal. When army is withdrawn, they start having problem with para military and latest with their own police and state Govt. Till now no one from us understood what do they want? The message coming from Vally is that people only believe in violence.

They flee away Hindu's from the state, want none of Indian law to be applied to them, throw stones at forces and then they expect that we should maintain calm and come forward for dialogues.

I believe that at least they should take names. At least take names against whom you are protesting, give specific demands what you want instead of just holding rallies and destroying public property. Every home has problems and life in Pakistan is no better than here.

Kashmir is such a beautiful place, the main source of income here is tourism. With such kind of acts and disturbance so often you can't complain later on that tourists are not coming in the seasons. These things have long lasting effects.

My only question, why only such trouble is in Kashmir and not in any other state of India.

Please live peacefully, Kashmir is such a pleasing place.
